SB 129 - This act prohibits school bus drivers from using wireless telephones or other electronic wireless communication devices while operating school buses on highways within this state. The prohibition does not apply when such devices are being used to call 9-1-1 or to contact law enforcement authorities or emergency response agencies in emergency situations. The prohibition includes talking on such a device or sending a text message on the device. A violation of the act is a Class C misdemeanor and a moving violation for purposes of point assessment.
