CURRENT BILL SUMMARY
SB 1139 - Under the act, the Department of Natural Resources shall not issue a permit for the operation of a solid waste disposal area located in the city of Kansas City without receiving approval from an adjoining municipality if such area is located within one mile of such municipality, instead of one-half mile as currently provided.
The act is substantially similar to SB 739 (2024), SB 769 (2024), HB 2254 (2024), SCS/SB 590 (2023) and to the perfected HCS/HB 909 (2023).
