CURRENT BILL SUMMARY
SJR 8 - This constitutional amendment, if adopted by the voters, prohibits the General Assembly from appropriating or otherwise authorizing funds for any clinic, physician's office, or any other place or facility in which abortions are performed or induced or any affiliate or associate of such entity. This provision shall not apply to any hospital.
This constitutional amendment is identical to SJR 34 (2022) and SJR 18 (2021) and substantially similar to a provision in the truly agreed to and finally passed CCS/SCS/HS/HCS/HB 2011 (2020) and SJR 1 (2020 1st Extraordinary Session).
