SCS/SB 963 – This act transfers the administration of the Minority Teaching Scholarship from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to the Department of Higher Education. (Section 161.415) This act transfers the administration of the Minority and Underrepresented Environmental Literacy Program from the Department of Natural Resources to the Department of Higher Education. Scholarships will be administered by the Department Recruitment and Retention Program. In addition, the Minority Environmental Literacy Advisory Committee will be chaired by the Commissioner of Higher Education, instead of the Director of the Department of Natural Resources. The Director, or his or her designee, will serve as a member of the committee. (Section 173.240) This act is identical to SCS/HCS/HB 1858 (2010). MICHAEL RUFF
