SB 644 - Current law provides that the State Auditor shall audit any political subdivision if requested to do so by petition. This act modifies the requisite percent of qualified voters needed to sign a petition for such an audit. Current law requires that percentage to be determined based on the number of qualified voters of the political subdivision that cast votes in the last gubernatorial election held prior to the filing of the petition. This act requires the percentage to be determined based on the number of qualified voters that cast votes in the last gubernatorial election held prior to the requesting of the petition from the State Auditor.
