SB 688 – This act requires each public school district, charter school, private school and parochial school to provide to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education information on the number of students enrolled, the age of each student enrolled, and the number of students in each grade level. Schools do not need to provide the name of an individual student or any other identifying information. This reporting must take place at the beginning and end of each school year. The parent, guardian, or other person responsible for a child enrolled in a home school must notify the chief school officer of the child's school district of residence that the child is enrolled in a home school. The name of the child or any other identifying information does not have to be provided. MICHAEL RUFF
