SB 1122 - This act makes it a Class E felony offense of unlawful transfer of weapons for a licensed firearms dealer to deliver a handgun to a purchaser without waiting at least 24 hours and upon receipt of the purchaser's criminal background check. This provision does not apply to the sale of a firearm to a law enforcement officer in the course of the officer's official duties. In addition, this act changes the classification of the offense to a Class E felony so that no change to the sentence for the offense will occur when the revisions to felony penalties take effect on January 1, 2017.
