SB 1377 - This act prohibits state agencies and political subdivisions from purchasing, installing, or using automated license plate reader systems (ALPRs) as defined in the act, and from accessing or using captured license plate data from vehicles located on public highways. The act contains an exception for ALPRs affixed to vehicles occupied by police officers, and an exception for the accessing and use of data collected by a third party for financial responsibility verification and enforcement as provided by law.
