SB 1054 - This act prohibits public school districts and local educational agencies from pursuing or accepting any grant that would require collecting or reporting any type of student data in violation of state or federal student privacy regulations. This act also requires public school districts and local educational agencies to notify students and parents and allow for a thirty day public comment period prior to pursuing any grant that requires the collecting or reporting of any type of student data. This act contains a provision similar to one contained in HCS/HB 1873 (2014). JOSHUA NORBERG
