SCS/SB 901 - This act pertains to environmental control. This act changes the jurisdiction over underground storage tanks from the Clean Water Commission to the Missouri Hazardous Waste Management Commission. This act changes the reference in various statutes from the Department of Natural Resources to the Hazardous Waste Management Commission to reflect the transfer of oversight and rulemaking authority. Language has been added with this substitute to clarify that hazardous waste commission is authorized to promulgate rules in order to implement the provisions of Section 319.109, reporting of any releases or corrective action in response to an underground storage tank; and that to the extent that there is a conflict between this section and Section 644.143, this section shall prevail.
