CURRENT BILL SUMMARY
SB 583 - This act requires every law enforcement agency in the state to submit to the Department of Public Safety information pertaining to the immigration status of any criminal offender, indicating whether the offender is a citizen of the United States, is a lawfully present immigrant, or does not possess the information to show that he or she is a citizen of the United States or a lawfully present immigrant.
This act is similar to a provision in the truly agreed to SS#2/SCS/HCS#2/HB 495 (2025), SS/SCS/SBs 52 & 44 (2025), and HB 1147 (2025).
