HCS/SB 819 - Under current law, individuals who are at least fifty years of age, have twenty years experience, and pass a written exam or oral exam if they have a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or science, shall be issued a professional land surveyor or engineer license. This act modifies the licensure requirements for engineers and land surveyors by removing the fifty years of age requirement and the oral examination option. Under the act, a professional land surveyor license shall be issued to applicants who have twenty years experience and pass the fundamentals of land surveying examination, the professional land surveying examination, and the Missouri specific examination. A professional engineer license shall be issued to applicants who hold a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, have twenty years of engineering experience, and pass part two of the professional engineering exam. Professional engineer license shall also be issued to applicants who hold a degree from an accredited program, a doctorate in engineering from an institution that offers accredited programs, and passes part two of the professional engineering exam.
