CURRENT BILL SUMMARY
SJR 4 - Current law requires taxing jurisdictions to reduce property tax levies to offset increases in assessed valuations, with exceptions for new construction and improvements and allowing for growth not exceeding the rate of inflation. This constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, removes the exceptions for new construction and improvements and the allowable growth factor.
