INTRODUCED

HJR 18 -- State Board of Education

Co-Sponsors: Linton, Lograsso

This proposed constitutional amendment changes the State Board
of Education from an appointed to an elected basis. Instead of
the current 8 members, a member would be elected from each of
the state's 9 congressional districts. Terms are reduced from 8
to 4 years, and the prohibition on more than 4 members being of
the same political party is removed.
