HB 986 -- Symphony Orchestra Subdistrict

Sponsor:  Shelton

The bill allows the board of directors of the metropolitan
zoological park and museum district of St. Louis City to request
that a proposition be submitted to qualified voters of such
district by the election officials of a city or county
containing all or part of the district.

The proposition would allow qualified voters to approve or
disapprove a tax rate for the Symphony Orchestra Subdistrict
which will not exceed 2 cents on each $100 of assessed valuation
of taxable property for a period not to exceed 2 years for the
purposes of renovating and expanding Powell Symphony Hall.
