HB 942 -- Aging in Place Pilot Program

Sponsor: Harlan

This bill authorizes the Division of Aging, in collaboration
with qualified schools and universities, to establish an aging--
in place pilot program at up to 4 sites. The pilot program is
to deliver the full range of health services to elders to reduce
the need of relocating these elders as their health care needs
change. The pilot program is also to base state licensure on
the licensure of services, rather than licensure of facility
type. The Division of Aging is authorized to apply for any
federal waivers necessary for providing Medicaid reimbursement
for services received through the pilot program, and to
promulgate rules to implement the provisions of this bill. The
division is required to monitor the pilot program and to report
to the General Assembly on its effectiveness, including quality
of care, resident satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness.
