HB 914 -- Transportation Costs for Nonpublic School Students

Sponsor: Naeger

This bill requires districts providing transportation to public
school students to provide transportation for all students and
permits districts to charge for transporting nonpublic school
students a fee not in excess of the rate allowed for
transportation of public school pupils. These fees are the
basis for a school transportation tax credit. Parents who
supply transportation for their children attending private or
parochial schools or public schools outside their district of
residence will also receive a tax credit for documented
transportation costs not to exceed the amount established by the
school district of residence for transportation within the
district.
