FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 895 -- SHERIFF'S POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUAL SPONSOR: Crump COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Public Safety and Law Enforcement by a vote of 16 to 0. This bill eliminates duplicate language that requires a policy and procedure manual to be provided to all deputies, assistants, and employees of sheriff's departments in first class counties not having a charter form of government. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is necessary to rectify a double reference to the statutory requirement that a policy and procedure manual be provided to sheriffs' deputies, assistants, and employees. The other reference to the requirement will remain in effect. Testifying for the bill were Representative Crump; Missouri Deputy Sheriffs' Association; and Missouri Sheriffs' Association.
