HB 894 -- Mental Health Insurance

Co-Sponsors: Schilling, Sallee

This bill sets a minimum standard for insurance coverage of
catastrophic mental illness. The minimum standard requires
insurance companies to apply at least the same coinsurance, co--
payments, deductibles, annual limits, and lifetime policy limits
for catastrophic mental illnesses as for physical illnesses.
Except for health plans that cover state employees, such as the
Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan, the bill does not
mandate insurance coverage for mental illness.
