HB 862 -- Gaming Activities

Co-Sponsors:  Akin, Alter, Linton

This bill requires as a condition of renewing a gaming license
the waiver of the right to make political contributions or
expenditures in connection with candidates for elective office.

Contributions by entities with direct or indirect interest in
gaming enterprises are outlawed.  The bill also prohibits a
candidate or political committee from accepting such
contributions.

Excepted are expenditures by a candidate for his or her own
campaign or a transfer of funds by a candidate to his or her own
political committee.

This bill has penalty provisions.
