HB 86 -- Contracts with the Department of Corrections

Sponsor:  Troupe

This bill prohibits the Department of Corrections after January
1, 2000, from entering into contracts with private entities for
the operation of any division of the department without specific
authority set forth by statute.

The bill does nothing to invalidate current contracts or
renewals of current contracts.
