HB 786 -- Health Care Practitioner Profiles
Co-Sponsors: Barry, Hegeman, Foley
This bill requires the Division of Professional Registration to
develop practitioner profiles for certain licensed health care
professionals. These professions include podiatry,
chiropractic, dentistry, physicians and surgeons, physical
therapy, physician assistants, respiratory care, and nursing.
These profiles will contain information pertaining to
educational background; employment and privileges; primary
employment address; licenses and certificates; primary dates of
licensure and employment; description of criminal offenses in
which guilt was found, regardless of what state or territory it
occurred in; description of any disciplinary action taken; and
actions of malpractice reported to the Department of Insurance.
Upon completion the division will give the practitioner a copy
of the profile for review, with the opportunity to dispute any
factual inaccuracies. The division will make periodic updates
of these profiles as deemed necessary.
The division will make these profiles available to the public
through the internet or other commonly used means of
distribution.
