This bill deletes language about the railroad crossing safety
fee which has been rendered ineffective by a court decision.  It
makes it clear that a crossing safety fee of 25 cents will be
charged on each motor vehicle registration.

The bill also allows the Division of Motor Carrier and Railroad
Safety to use up to $100,000 from the Grade Crossing Safety
Account for administrative purposes.

rail safety programs.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Leake; Division of
Motor Carrier and Railroad Safety; Missouri Railroad
Association; Locomotive Engineers Association; and United
Transportation Union.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
