SPONSOR:  Hoppe (Kissell)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Local
Government and Related Matters by a vote of 18 to 0.

This substitute allows each board member of an ambulance
district to receive an attendance fee not to exceed $100 for
each board meeting.  An additional $50 attendance fee may be
paid to the chairman of the board.  Limits are set on the number
of attendance fees a board member may receive in a month.
Members must also be reimbursed for all actual expenditures in
the performance of their duties on behalf of the district,
including duties performed by the secretary and treasurer.
Compensation for the additional duties of the secretary and
treasurer may not exceed $1,000 per year.  Board members are not
eligible for compensation until after their next election.

FISCAL NOTE:  Not available at time of printing.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that ambulance board members should
be paid for their service.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Kissell.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
