on Public Safety and Law Enforcement by a vote of 16 to 0.

This bill allows the Superintendent of the Missouri Highway
Patrol to transfer a member of the patrol at the member's
expense as a disciplinary action.

FISCAL NOTE:  Savings to Highway Fund of $18,000 in FY 2000, FY
2001, and FY 2002.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this bill shifts the costs from
the state to the Highway Patrol officer in the event of an
officer's disciplinary transfer.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Crump; and Missouri
State Highway Patrol.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
