HB 656 -- Tax Credits for Farmers

Co-Sponsors:  Klindt, Summers, Hegeman, Barnett, Myers

For all taxable years after January 1, 2000, this bill allows a
taxpayer a credit against state tax liability of $20 per acre of
land leased to tenants in return for 50% of crops produced and
$10 per animal unit.  The amount of the tax credit is not to
exceed the taxpayer's liability imposed in the year of the claim
and is not to exceed $2,500 for any one taxable year.  Such tax
credit is not to be claimed for more than 5 consecutive years.
