INTRODUCED

HB 650 -- Addictions Counselors

Co-Sponsors:  Kennedy, Reynolds, Barry, Britt

This bill establishes the State Board for Professional
Addictions Counselors within the Division of Professional
Registration.  Persons wishing to practice as addictions
counselors must first register with the board.  The bill
contains provisions relating to the creation, operation, and
duties of the board; qualifications of applicants for licensure;
exemptions from licensure; license reciprocation; issuing of
permits; scope of practice; creation of a fund for the purpose
of providing for the board's necessary expenses; terms of
licensure; and the board's authority to promulgate rules,
establish fees, refuse and revoke licenses, and cause complaints
to be filed with the Administrative Hearing Commission.

This bill contains penalty provisions.
