HB 635 -- Licensing of Plumbers and Electricians

Sponsor: Long

This bill allows any city, town, or village in a third class
county to pass an ordinance requiring persons who perform
electrical or plumbing work for compensation to be licensed
within their jurisdiction. The city may require electrical
workers to pass an approved exam. An electrical or plumbing
license fee may also be charged. The fee may not exceed the
cost of administering the city license program. Persons working
full-time solely on an employer's own property, certain
utilities, and railroad corporations are not subject to
licensing requirements.
