COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Elections
by a vote of 17 to 1.

This bill allows voters to vote by absentee ballot if they are
caring for people who are ill or physically disabled.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that having to care for a friend or
family member who is ill or disabled is a valid reason to vote
by absentee ballot.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Wagner; and Missouri
Association of County Clerks and Election Authorities.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
