COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Social
Services, Medicaid and the Elderly by a vote of 9 to 7.

This bill authorizes licensed nursing, boarding, or convalescent
homes which voluntarily exceed the required staffing levels by
10% or more to apply to the Department of Social Services for a
rating as an "A+" facility.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill provides incentives
for facilities to maintain adequate staffing levels.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Hohulin.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
