HB 588 -- Registration and Licensing of Watercraft

Sponsor: Leake

This bill requires Missouri residents to title a vessel or
outboard motor within 30 days after acquiring or bringing it
into the state. Nonresidents owning a vessel or outboard motor
brought into and kept in this state must title it after 60 days.

Applications for title of a vessel or outboard motor must
contain the manufacturer's identification number, currently
referred to as the factory or serial number.

This bill also prohibits any one from buying or selling any
vessel or outboard motor without an assigned exchange of title
at the time of delivery. Any person violating this provision is
guilty of a class B misdemeanor.
