INTRODUCED

HB 577 -- Registration of Watercraft

Sponsor:  Pryor

This bill prohibits registration or titling of any vessel unless
the owner pays all state and local taxes as provided by law in
effect on the date the vessel was first kept, acquired, or
brought into Missouri or the owner submits proof that all
applicable taxes have been paid in this or another state.

The delinquency penalty fee for failing to timely title a
vessel  will be increased from $10 for each 30 days of
delinquency not to exceed a total of $30 to $50 for the first
violation, $250 for the second, and a third violation will be
subject to the impoundment of the vessel until the owner obtains
proof from the Director of Revenue that a certification of title
has been made and all delinquency penalty fees paid, together
with all fees, charges, and payments associated with the
impoundment of the vessel.
