HB 556 -- Teacher Career Plan Development

Co-Sponsors:  Shelton, Gunn, Auer, Carter, Boykins, Thompson (72)

This bill increases by 50% the career stage amounts for teachers
who agree to teach in a poor rural, urban, or metropolitan
district for at least 5 years.  Current career stage amounts are
$1,500, $3,000, and $5,000 per school year.  The Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education will determine by rule the
definition of a poor district.
