HB 555 -- Minority Teaching Scholarships

Co-Sponsors: Shelton (57), Gunn, Auer, Boykins, Carter,
Hilgemann, Thompson (72)

Current law provides for up to 100 renewable scholarships in the
amount of $2,000 for minority students, to encourage minority
students to enter teaching. This bill increases the number of
scholarships from 100 to 500, and increases the scholarship
amount to $3,000 for those students entering the field of
special education.
