HB 550 -- RECORDS FOR LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES (Howerton)

This bill requires the Department of Social Services to maintain
records of compliance with statutes, rules, or the conditions of
licensure, for any residential care facility I or II,
intermediate care facility, or skilled nursing facility, for
which the department maintains records of site inspections and
violations of statutes, rules, or the conditions of licensure.
In addition, the department is required to record any actions
taken by such a facility that is above and beyond the minimal
requirements for compliance.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this bill provides consumer
protections, and its provisions encourage facilities to exceed
minimal standards.

Testifying for the bill were Representatives Howerton and
Ridgeway; Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging; and
American Association of Retired Persons.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
