HB 531 -- Drivers' Licenses

Co-Sponsors: May (108), O'Toole

This bill requires that a person's thumbprint be taken on every
original or renewal of a driver's, nondriver's, or commercial
driver's license. If a thumbprint cannot be taken, the prints
of the index fingers must be taken. The licensee's thumbprints
or fingerprints may be encoded in the magnetic strip of the
license. The Department of Revenue is permitted to disclose a
thumbprint or fingerprint only for law enforcement purposes
after service of a subpoena.

The bill also prohibits possession of both a driver's and a
nondriver's license card.
