This bill requires that votes taken during an open public
meeting be taken by a roll call vote.  Under current law, roll
call votes are only required during a closed meeting.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Civil and Administrative Law by a vote of 18 to 0.

This bill requires that votes taken during an open public
meeting be taken by a roll call vote.  Under current law, roll
call votes are only required during a closed meeting.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the public should be able to
know exactly how members of public governmental bodies voted on
particular issues, and that 3rd and 4th class cities already are
required to do this.

Testifying for the bill were Representatives Legan and Elliott;
and Missouri Press Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
