HB 455 -- Sports Officials

Sponsor:  Elliott

This bill makes it a class D felony for a person to commit
either the crime of third degree assault or one type of the
crime of harassment if the victim of those crimes is an athletic
coach, manager, or sports official and the crime is motivated by
the victim's status as an athletic coach, manager, or sports
official.  Currently, the crime of third degree assault can be
either a class C misdemeanor, class A misdemeanor, or class D
felony.  The crime of harassment is a class A misdemeanor.
