HB 442 -- Textbook Sales to Students

Sponsor: Reynolds

Current law exempts from state sales and use taxes certain
textbooks purchased at a bookstore located on the premises of a
college or university. This bill removes the requirement that
the purchase occur at a bookstore located on the premises of a
college or university. The bill also requires colleges and
universities which extend credit for purchases at stores owned
by the college or university to also extend credit for purchases
made at stores not owned by the higher education institution.
