HB 419 -- Retirement Benefits for Members of General Assembly

Sponsor: Hagan-Harrell

Currently, members of the General Assembly become eligible for
Missouri State Employees' Retirement System benefits upon age 55
after completion of 3 full biennial assemblies. This bill
reduces the number to 2 full assemblies. Former members of the
General Assembly who meet the new eligibility requirement can
apply to become special consultants and receive benefits, but no
retroactive benefits will be paid. The bill also raises monthly
benefits from $150 to $200 times the number of biennial
assemblies in which the member served.
