HB 415 -- SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRANTS (Vogel)
This bill, known as the Selective Service Registration Awareness
and Compliance Act, prohibits persons required to register under
the United States Military Selective Service Act:
(1) from obtaining state government employment without proof of
registration; and,
(2) from obtaining state-supported scholarships, financial
assistance, or state-insured loans.
The bill also requires officials charged with authority over the
hiring of employees or the granting of educational assistance to
adopt appropriate rules and regulations for effectuating its
provisions.
Applicant certification of registration status satisfies the
proof of certification requirement.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
