HB 414 -- Motor Vehicle Inspections

Co-Sponsors:  Bartle, Wright, Black, Hanaway, Tudor

Under this bill safety inspections on new motor vehicles will
not be required for the first three model years and the fifth
model year.  The fee for an official safety inspection is
increased from $7.00 to $8.00.  The superintendent of the
Missouri Highway Patrol will collect $1.50 instead of the
current $.75 for each certificate of inspection, sticker, seal
or other device issued to the official inspection stations.  The
fee will be deposited in the state Treasury with $1.10 credited
to the highway fund and $.40 the Highway Patrol Inspection
Fund.  Currently, the amount is $.75 and $.25 respectively.
