HB 38 -- Child Impact Statements

Sponsor: Dougherty

This bill requires the Oversight Division of the Committee on
Legislative Research to prepare a child impact statement for all
legislation introduced into either house of the General
Assembly, except for appropriation bills. The child impact
statement will address whether and to what extent the
legislation will affect all aspects of children's well being,
specific groups of children, and parents and caregivers of
children. It will accompany the bill throughout its course of
passage.
