HB 363 -- Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility

Sponsor:  Clayton

Current Missouri law requires motor vehicle owners to maintain
financial responsibility. Vehicle owners can maintain financial
responsibility by having automobile liability insurance. The
insurance coverages must be at least $25,000 bodily injury or
death of one person; $50,000 bodily injury or death of two or
more persons; and $10,000 property damage. This bill raises the
minimum coverages to $50,000 bodily injury or death of one
person; $100,000 bodily injury or death of two or more persons;
and $25,000 property damage. The bill also exempts vehicles
owned by the state of Missouri or political subdivisions from
the financial responsibility requirement.
