HB 334 -- Retirement of Judges

Sponsor: Skaggs

This bill adds a class of eligibility for judges' retirement
benefits for those aged 55 or older with 20 years of aggregate
judicial service. A judge who terminates employment before
August 28, 1999, can become a special consultant, with a benefit
of retirement eligibility under the new class. A judge who
elects not to retire under the new class is ineligible for cost--
of-living increases accruing for time in office before age 60.
