HB 322 -- Income Tax Deduction for Health Insurance

Co-Sponsors: Gratz, Gunn

This bill allows an individual income tax deduction to certain
self-employed taxpayers in an amount equal to 100% of payments
made for insurance to provide health coverage for the taxpayer,
his or her spouse, and any dependents.

The bill repeals the deduction if the federal government
authorizes a similar deduction.

This bill will become effective January 1, 2000.
