HB 272 -- Funeral Directors

Sponsor: Treadway

This bill requires all funeral directors and embalmers licensed
after January 1, 1978, as a condition of license renewal, to
certify that they have completed 12 hours of approved continuing
education courses during the preceding 2 year period. Licensees
are not required to provide proof of completion of continuing
education when renewing, but must maintain proof of completion,
being subject to inspection by the board at any time.

The bill also requires all continuing education courses to be
sponsored by accredited institutions certified by the board.
Course sponsors are required to provide certificates of
completion to all licensees on completion.
