HB 254 -- Landscape Architects

Sponsor: Treadway

Under this bill individuals are qualified to practice landscape
architecture if they have been duly licensed by the Landscape
Architecture Council on the basis of education, examination, and
experience. The bill also establishes the definition of the
practice of landscape architecture.

The bill also prohibits any person from holding out as being a
landscape architect without being duly licensed. It does not
prohibit persons working in the landscape, nursery, or gardening
industry from engaging in their occupations as long as the
project scope does not jeopardize the public health.

The bill waives the licensure requirement for those individuals
licensed with the Division of Professional Registration on or
before August 28, 1999.
