INTRODUCED

HB 236 -- Income Tax Credit for Health Expenses

Co-Sponsors:  Levin, Secrest

This bill authorizes a resident individual income tax credit
equal to 100% of a taxpayer's out-of-pocket medical costs paid
during the taxable year to the extent the costs are included in
federal adjusted gross income.  If the credit exceeds the
taxpayer's liability, the difference will be refunded to the
taxpayer.

This bill will become effective January 1, 2000.
