INTRODUCED

HB 235 -- Income Tax Credit for Insurance Premiums

Co-Sponsors:  Levin, Secrest

This bill authorizes a resident individual income tax credit
equal to 100% of a taxpayer's medical insurance premiums paid
during the taxable year to the extent the premiums are included
in federal adjusted gross income.  If the credit exceeds the
taxpayer's liability, the difference will be refunded to the
taxpayer.

This bill will become effective January 1, 2000.
